Fenstanton Walk

The weather forecast for our 5 mile walk this morning was not looking good but 12 of us
braved the rain which was only heavy for about 30 minutes. Fenstanton is steeped in history – it has a late 17th century clock tower and lock up. The clock has an octagonal face which came from Conington Hall, Cambs. Lancelot Brown (Capability) became Lord of the Manor of Fenstanton and Hilton. He is buried in the churchyard. Our leaders ( Brenda and Alison D.) took us around the Fen Drayton Nature Reserve which the RSPB have looked after since 2007.
