It was another glorious morning as 24 walkers gathered by St Peter’s Church (a Victorian corrugated tin tabernacle built in 1885 in less than 6 months rom a flat pack kit). Gill our leader today related some of the history of Littlebury including the infamous case of the Strethall shooting in 1849. Our walk today led us towards Strethall Church via Freewood Farm and the Poplars then on to the hamlet of Catmere End before returning to Littlebury Green. We enjoyed lovely views across now golden gentle hills including a sighting of a large group of deer whilst we took our break. Thanks to Gill and to John our back marker for an enjoyable walk and to Gill for a welcome selection of cakes for our picnic.
