Little Eversden Walk

An excellent start to our Autumn Walk Programme – 20 members attended and we welcomed 3 guest walkers. Our leaders were Tina and Sarah. They filled us in on the history of the village. The name `Eversden` is mentioned in the Domesday Book as `Eversdona` meaning Hill of the Wild Boar. The boar’s head being the obvious choice for the village sign. Before WW2 there were 4 farms in Little Eversden and 9 in Great Eversden. This was mainly a farming area, but Eversden greengages were unique being grown only in one other area in the country. This was in the Vale of Evesham.
