Orwell Walk and A.G.M.

It was a very changeable morning with sunshine and showers as 23 members met in Orwell village car park. Our walk leader Christine gave an informative speech on the origins of the village name that everyone found very entertaining. We then made our way up to Orwell clunch pit and then to Wimpole Estate. We walked along the ridge of Thorn Hill towards New Farm Hill joining Wimpole Hall All Terrain Path. We stopped for our break with a view across the estate. Showers continued to come and go as we made our way back to Orwell. Once the walk had finished, nearly all in attendance went to Orwell Village Hall where we held our A.G.M, followed by an indoor picnic and enjoyed a selection of cakes provided by Christine and Rayna. Thanks to Christine for leading today’s walk and Paul who was back marker. Extra special thanks to Annette and David for helping set up the hall and to everyone who pitched in, especially Sarah and Ian who kindly helped clear and washed up.
