Hemingford Abbots is situated along the southern bank of the River Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire. This is a very picturesque village. 27 of us admired the thatched 16th and 17th century cottages in the village. Jacqui our leader informed us that much of the village is in a conservation area. The route took us across the meadows to Houghton Mill along the Thicket to St Ives returning via Hemingford Grey.
