Grantchester Walk

I wish to thank our leaders Tina and Jacqui for leading this morning’s 6 mile walk from The
Red Lion public house, Grantchester.  We had a guest walker join us – Jo. In total 34 attended. The route took us across the meadows at Grantchester into Cambridge. We had a group photo taken by the Chair in front of Kings College Chapel. Then on to Cambridge University Library site where the 1914 First Great Eastern Hospital was built. This hospital could accommodate 1,700 beds. They treated 70,000 casualties in the 5-year period.
