Dry Drayton walk

posted in: Uncategorized | 0
Another lovely sunny morning for our 5-mile ramble. 27 of us gathered outside the church of St Peter and St Paul at Dry Drayton. Our leaders were Jacqui and Carolyn. They gave us a brief history of the village. The name of village was listed in the Domesday Book as “Draitone”. The route took us from Dry Drayton to Bar Hill and then across the fields and country tracks to Lolworth and then to Childerley Hall. This is where we had our coffee stop. Peter and Christine even had time to have a game of table tennis!! We all admired the 19th Century Long Barn which is now transformed into a stunning venue for weddings. Then we made our way back to Dry Drayton.
