On a warm and sunny Sunday morning 19 members met outside The Blind Fiddler public house. We had a short talk from our walk leader David about the history of Anstey and the local folk tale of George a blind fiddler who disappeared in mysterious circumstances whilst exploring a nearby tunnel. We then set off with Annette as our back marker. We walked along fields and through woodland enjoying the welcome shade as the temperature continued to rise. There were some lovely views and we had a shady spot for our coffee break. We then headed back into Anstey where some of our walkers took a shorter route back to the pub while others continued for a slightly longer walk passing the appropriately named Pains End. Thanks to David and Annette.
