Saffron Walden Walk

Twenty people joined our walk today in Saffron Walden, the weather was kind to us as it didn’t rain. We walked some of the historical streets and had an in depth tour of Bridge End gardens. Our leader Eddie told us about how the Gibson family following their Quaker religion were very generous in giving to and shaping the town, which included the construction of the gardens. We then left the town, walking out beside the medieval battle ditches and on to Audley End village. We then stopped for our coffee break overlooking the Mansion house and miniature railway. The last part of our walk took us through Audley End park beside the golf course and back to our cars.
