Thriplow Walk

Considering we have had a heat wave during the past week it was a cooler day for our 4.5 mile walk this morning. 28 of us met at the Smithy on the green at Thriplow. Our leaders were Mary and Sally. Thriplow is renowned for the Daffodil weekend which is held every year. One of the highlights is a daffodil called Madam Speaker named in honour of former House of Commons speaker Baroness Betty Boothroyd, who made Thriplow her home. After our picnic lunch we had the pleasure of seeing a vintage Dakota aircraft fly over.
