Stow-cum-Quy Walk

It was a lovely sunny day as 31 of us met outside The White Swan public house, Stow-cum-Quy for the 6 mile walk. The White Swan public house was built in the 17th century, it’s a timber framed building on a brick plinth.  Christine informed us that the village name derives from the joining of two settlements. One called Stow ( meaning high or holy place). Quy coming from Cowey or “Cow Island”. As we were making our way back to the starting point we came across a very energetic dog called Marvin. He was quite a handful !!
