Today was our first walk of 2026 with 26 walkers gathering under a clear blue sky and bright sunshine albeit we were all well insulated against the frost and minus 3 temperature. We paused for a group photo to launch a new year of walking and Denis then took the lead taking us past the Old Guildhall and many other beautiful old houses adorned in festive colours. We headed out of Linton towards Hadstock powering up the hill (perhaps helped by a few festive calories) to the ancient Saxon and Medieval church of St Botolph’s. The church door has been dated to around 1032 and a rarity for still being in use. The sun continued to shine as we turned back towards Linton and some glittering views across beautiful countryside. Thanks also to our back marker Eddie.
