Debden Walk

It was a bright sunny morning for our walk today as eighteen members gathered outside Debden village hall. Sarah our walk leader gave a short talk on the history and local features of Debden. We set off with Brian as our back marker firstly towards Debden church, then onwards toward Widdington.  As we stopped for our coffee break at St Mary the Virgin church a Mother’s Day service was just ending and we were very kindly offered some delicious Simnel cake (a traditional Lenten and Mothering Sunday cake with origins dating back to medieval times) which we really enjoyed. We then made our way back to Debden reaching our destination just as the weather began to turn. Thanks to Sarah and Brian.
