Today we started our 5.3 mile walk from the Black Bull public house in Balsham. 28 members attended. The village was completely destroyed in 1015 by Viking raiders. The village sign on the green commemorates the sole survivor who hid in the parish church. Balsham is said to be haunted by a “Shug Monkey”. This strange creature was like a big black dog with a face of a monkey. We did not encounter this Shug Monkey on our walk !!
