It was a wet morning when 18 of us gathered in the car park of the Cock Inn at Henham. Our leaders Gill and John gave us a brief history of the village. There is a legend about a dragon and today many signs in the village contain dragon motifs.
On route we passed the duck pond where Shirley came to the rescue of a baby moorhen which was parted from its parents. We then made our way to Henham Lodge where we admired the llamas. The leaders took us along a wooded path following a young River Granta. This path was flooded but we managed to “walk the plank” and not fall in the fast-running river.
