16 walkers set out on Sunday 17th August 2025 from Standon, Herts. Our leaders were Gill and John. Standon is one of the highest villages in Herts – 150 metres above sea level. En route we passed the paper mill, which probably originally was a corn mill but then it converted to paper making. It made high-quality paper for bibles and then brown paper bags for grocers. The group enjoyed the amazing landscape, the lovely weather, good company and some delicious home-made cakes.
